Marketplace had a very nice video explaining SEC’s fraud allegations against Goldman Sachs. Senior editor Paddy Hirsch tried to explain it in a very easy way using an analogy of a horse race.

Canadian Dream: Free at 45 had some ideas what to do when interest rates hike later this year. As indicated by Canadian Mortgage Trends, there was a report from Canadian Big 5 Banks that we might see 2.75% interest rate hike by end of next year. Better be prepared.

Intelligent Speculator has a series of “Google’s next billion dollar business”. How about getting more profits from Google’s free services, such as YouTube and Android? He also mentioned the possibility of Google to become financial data provider and financial research.

Michael Johnston from EtfDatabase gave his takes on five important metrics to consider before purchasing ETF, i.e. 1) expense ratio, 2) index methodology, 3) depth of holdings, 4) tracking error and 5) tax efficiency.

The Big Picture is comparing anatomy of a crash: 2009 vs 1907. It suggests that we’ll have a big correction and then go side ways for about 2 years.

Canadian Capitalist had a brilliant posting on how to convert from Canadian Dollar to US Dollar (and vice versa) in a cheap way, i.e. by buying buying stocks in TSX and sell the same stocks in NYSE.
